Love for Christ and love for human life are the foundation of the Pregnancy Care Centre’s mission. Over the past 32 years, the PCC has supported women and men in pregnancy decision making. No one needs to believe that abortion is their only option.
Relays require individuals working together. How beautiful it is when Christians unite to support women who are pregnant and alone. Let’s be the hands and feet of Christ. Let’s walk together and show them we care!
Register online to let us know you plan to walk 4 km with our PCC Moms on Saturday, May 13, 2017! Last year, approximately 400 people came out to walk/jog/run with us. The relay begins 9:00 AM at Willowdale Baptist Church at 15 Olive Ave, Toronto, ON, M2N 4N4 (near Yonge & Finch). Plan to arrive by 8:30AM to hand in your forms, grab some coffee, and/or collect your T-Shirt*. Come out this Mother’s Day Weekend in support of our PCC Moms and their families! Click here or scroll down to the bottom of this page to register now.
We have T-shirts and food prepared for everyone who collects donations of $20 or more. Set a goal for yourself. Your goal might be to ask 20 people to support you, or you can decide to raise $500. The PCC is counting on $50,000 being raised at this year’s Relay in order to provide critical support services for expectant moms this year.
If you have participated in our Relays in the past, you can download the printable fundraising sheet here. If you would like to utilize our promotional resources to help you in collecting pledges, click here to download them. We are excited to tell you that this year, the PCC has made it easier for you to collect pledges online. Additionally, pledges can be made online with a credit card or through PayPal. If you have never done this before, don’t worry we’ll walk you through it!

Stay tuned for instructions on how you can create an Online Fundraising Page for the PCC. If you require help, please email us and we can set this up for you. Team up with your church, family, and/or friends to collectively raise $500 to support one family, $1000 to support two families, or $1500 to support three families for twelve months! This is a great way to ask your friends to sponsor you and raise awareness of PCC services at the same time. TIP: If you choose to create an Online Fundraising Page, share it on all your social media! See how to do this by clicking here. Let all your friends know that you are walking PCC’s Relay 2016 and that they can contribute to your fundraising goal.

In the past, individual participants have focused on reaching out to people in their family, friends, work, and church circles. However, in teaming up with even just 1 other person, you could double the family, friends, work, and church circles you are reaching out to. Additionally, we’ve made it easier for participants this year to reach out to their Facebook friends, and Twitter Followers. If you had a team of 3 and all 3 of you were to share your Online Fundraising Page on Facebook & Twitter, you would be tripling the amount of people you are reaching out to for pledges! This is a great way to ask your friends to sponsor you and raise awareness of PCC services at the same time. TIP: If you choose to create an Online Fundraising Page, share it on all your social media!
If you will not be collecting pledges, you are still very much welcome to walk in the Relay. A donation towards the food is greatly appreciated.
Bring your running shoes, pledge form, and collected pledges. Our relay will be taking place (rain or ‘shine) on Saturday, May 13, 2016. Plan to arrive by 8:30AM. Finish off the morning with a free* BBQ, T-shirt, and prizes (*participants who raise $20 or more receive free lunch and a T-shirt). Don’t forget to bring out your friends and family!
If you can’t join the Relay, you can still help make a difference by collecting pledges or giving a donation to someone who is walking in the Relay. Click here to find someone to donate to. Click here for the PCC Staff’s Fundraising Page.

Where is the Relay? The Relay begins at Willowdale Baptist Church at 15 Olive Ave, Toronto, ON, M2N 4N4 (near Yonge & Finch). We will be stopping at church relay checkpoints along the 4KM route. For commuters, there is going to be subway closure on Sat, May 13th on the Bloor-Danforth line between St. George and Broadview stations. Shuttle buses will operate between these stations during the closure.
Why is it called a Relay? Relays require individuals working together. How beautiful it is when Christians unite to support women who are alone and pregnant. Let’s be the hands and feet of Christ. Let’s walk together and show them we care!

Is there parking available? Yes. The church parking lot will be reserved for the barbeque area. Please note there is no parking on Doris Ave but lots of parking on side streets east of Doris Ave.
Can I bring my children? Absolutely! This isn’t a race, so the Relay is stroller and kid friendly. There are several playgrounds along the route. There are also church checkpoints where you can stop for drinks and washrooms.
You say there are prizes? a BBQ? T-shirts? Yes, indeed. We will be drawing prizes for all sorts of categories during the BBQ. Participants who collect funds of $20 or more will receive free lunch and a free T-shirt.’
What happens if it rains? The Relay will be taking place rain or shine! Willowdale Baptist Church has kindly permitted the use of their indoor facilities in case of rain. I.e., if it rains, we’ll be taking lunch inside!
Do you need volunteers for the day? Yes! See here for a list of available jobs, and contact us for more information.
Create a fundraising page online. This is a great way to ask your friends and at the same time raise awareness of PCC services. If you have never done this before, we have set up a fundraising page for you to personalize. We want to make it as easy for you as this is a new tool. You can download instructions. If you require help please email us. A printable fundraising sheet is also available, if you prefer that instead. You can find the Relay poster here.
You can ask your church to add this in their bulletin:
2017 First Response Relay | Saturday May 13, 2017 @ 9 AM
15 Olive Ave, Toronto, ON, M2N 4N4 (near Yonge & Finch)
Run or walk the annual 4 km Relay Route and join other church teams in Toronto who are raising sponsorship in support for the Pregnancy Care Centre. Funds raised will help women and men get the help they need when faced with an unexpected pregnancy. As care is extended, decisions are made to have a baby rather than have an abortion.
