Zoe’s Story: The Value of a Good Friend

When Zoe found out that she was pregnant, she felt deeply alone. Without her family’s support, she didn’t know where to turn for help. Given her circumstances, her doctor suggested that she have an abortion.

Desperate, she confided in a good friend, who also happened to be one of our First Response Volunteers. Our volunteer responded with care and compassion, encouraging Zoe with the assurance that she is not alone. She referred Zoe to the Pregnancy Care Centre for ongoing support.

There, Zoe found the help and support she needed. Cherishing the life growing inside of her, she is now determined not to give into the pressure to abort her child. Knowing that she had a responsibility to her soon-to-be-born child, she is looking for a job and a place to live so that she can be the best mom to this little one.

Before she came to the Pregnancy Care Centre, Zoe didn’t know a place like this existed. Now, because of her friend, our dedicated and prepared First Response volunteer, Zoe is able to receive the right kind of support at a time when she needs it most.
